Make Time for Joy

On our sacred journey it is important to make time for joy, especially now. Many people have had a rough year and may have gone through loss of loved ones, their health, social lives, jobs, etc. Experiencing loss in any form can be very difficult to go through because it takes a toll on your mental health. It isn’t easy to get out of feeling depressed but it is important for us to make an attempt at bringing joy into our lives.

Joy can be found in the small things. What have you accomplished? Did you exercise? Clean your room? Get proper rest? No matter how small you think it is you can celebrate what you have done to take care of yourself. Feel joy for taking care of yourself.

We should also share our joy with others. Joy begets joy so pass your joy to those around you. Your smile or kind words may be just what someone needs to encourage them or bring hope to them. Don’t keep your joy to yourself but let it radiate from yourself like a sunbeam that lights the way for those around you.
